This month’s guests:
Matt Morales even got himself on the news for all the stand-up fundraisers he did during Katrina. Caught a plane to Scotland and performed at their fancy Fringe Festival from what I've heard, too. Fella has one of them conversational styles that wraps you into what he's saying. Telling jokes about moving from here in Louisiana out to fancy California. Three years ago I would've told you the place ain't real, just the setting for The Wizard. But he’s really doing it.
Ray Molina is both completely confident and slyly hesitant. He’s always absolutely candid about himself, sharing what others would hide away, but he’s the one who seems like a mystery. He never raises his voice or rarely so much as an eyebrow, but Ray still manages to make audiences cry with laughter wherever he goes.
Joe Tobin is a comedian, writer, and fan of flyers based in San Francisco. He regularly performs at the Sacramento and San Francisco Punch Lines and is one half of the popular comedy show, “Ebony and Irony.”
Steve Ferris started doing comedy in 2004 and has been doing it consistently since. Before that he did it for a little while and then stopped for a year. Before that he did it one time in a high school talent contest, which resulted in him being suspended for three days. His style and approach to comedy is less physical, less intellectual, and more emotional and dramatic. This means comedy that you feel from the inside.
Chazz Hawkins is a Sacramento comedian, performing all over the Sacramento and Bay areas. He digs into culture, rooting out its idiosyncrasies for display, and he does so in unyieldingly likeable fashion.
Brad Meyers came up with the idea of turning 7elevens into Kwik-E-Marts to promote The Simpsons Movie. Seriously, he actually orchestrated a bunch of 7elevens being turned into Kwik-E-Marts in preparation for the movie. He’s a hilarious guy, and a good friend of ours. _________________ My signature doesn't have to be my name? All this time I've been signing contracts without an understanding of my options... |
