Kirk Fox has a new bio for March 26 at the San Jose Improv

March 16th, 2009 | San Francisco Comedy

One pet peeve of mine is when comedy clubs use old outdated bios to promote a comedian’s upcoming performance. (A recent example: “Jimmy Shubert is off to a rocking start for 2005.”)

This apparently happened to Kirk Fox’s last appearance at the San Jose Improv. He wanted to make sure it didn’t happen again, so he sent in this one:

“Dearest San Jose Improv. Let me first say, go Sharks! Secondly, this bio is being written by me, Kirk Fox because the last bio that was up here only said I’d been in Nash Bridges. That credit was ten years ago and I’m not sure it would have really brought in the crowds. Let’s see if some current credits trump my Nash Bridges episode. And I’ll try and name a few that might imply that you will in fact be seeing comedy March 26, 2009. I’ve told jokes on The Tonight Show, I have a 1/2 hour Comedy Central special, and I won the 2007 HBO comedy festival in Aspen. I’m currently starring in the web series “Heckle-U” with Owen Benjamin and Tom Arnold airing on www.cbs.com. I have a weekly blog called ‘Down the Foxhole” which you can read at www.kirkfox.com. And if you want to see me on the couch with Jay Leno please go to www.myspace.com/kirkfox and check it out. I also finished in the top 20 in Comedy Central’s 2008 standup showdown. Not bad for a guy writing his own bio. Okay, I’m drifting. Wait, one more, I’m doing Chelsea Lately on Tuesday Feb.19th and I have a few movies coming out later this year. Go to http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0289105/ and see if any of them interest you. Nash Bridges is also on there. Don Johnson shot me in the end. It was uncalled for but then again, he was the executive producer. Hope to see you at the show. And one more, I’ll be on Reno 911 later this year. It’s funny. Not sure I was but I can say this, Don Johnson didn’t shoot me at the end of my episode. Bye.”
