Tonight: SF Comedy History Talk at St. Mary’s Cathedral
October 14th, 2008 | San Francisco ComedyTonight at 7pm, the San Francisco Museum and Historical Society is sponsoring a talk on SF comedy history from the ’50s to the ’80s. Topics covered will include the history of The Purple Onion, the SF International Comedy Competition, Robin Williams, and much more.
The program will feature a panel of 5 local comedians:
- Jim Cranna, founder of Theatre of the Deranged, wrote for Flip Wilson
- Bob Sarlatte, appeared on Letterman over 20 times, announcer for the 49ers
- Debi Durst, recently produced SF’s 28th annual Comedy Day in the Park
- Diane Amos, best known as the “Pine-Sol Lady”
- Ron Muriera, of “Those Darn Accordions” and the San Francisco Mime Troupe
The event will be held at 7pm in St. Francis Hall, at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1111 Gough Street.
Free to SFMHS members, $5 for non-members.
