Mark Pitta & Friends attempt world record for longest stand-up show

May 19th, 2008 | San Francisco Comedy

Beginning June 3rd, New York City comedy club Comic Strip Live will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for longest stand-up comedy show by hosting 50 continuous hours of comedy.

The Bay Area’s Mark Pitta has announced that his weekly show Mark Pitta & Friends, at 142 Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley, will begin at the same time and attempt to outlast the NYC show.

Both shows are benefits: The Bay Area show is a benefit for comedian Max Alexander, who is currently in need of a kidney transplant, and the New York show is a benefit for the USO.
