Will Franken’s final installment of Things We Did Before Reality

May 13th, 2008 | San Francisco Comedy

Will Franken has completed the twelfth and final episode of his brilliant podcast, Things We Did Before Reality. (Click the link to hear all 12 episodes.)

The last episode is called “Side Two of Abbey Road” (Paul & Ringo, please don’t sue!) and at 63 minutes, it’s the longest one in the series. It’s very autobiographical (Mr. Franken, it’s a son,”), political (Reverend Jeremiah), and, of course, psychedelic (”That was the first time I died…”). Comedians, check out the parody of a Sunday night at the Punchline at about 17 minutes in.

From Will:
“I am very proud of this one. Extremely proud… Some may call the piece racist, or sexist, or not ‘culturally sensitive’. Actually, the piece is none of these things. It is rock-n-roll. Rock-n-roll is what existed before globalization castrated it.”
