How to Convert Your MySpace Profile to Comedy
February 12th, 2007 | San Francisco ComedySince I’ve been hearing a lot of comedians ask about this…
The current way to convert your myspace profile to a comedy profile is by sending a message to this profile: myspace.com/aplaceforcomedy.
The comedy conversion link no longer works.
FROM MYSPACE:
Please save ALL text, HTML or CSS that you have inputted into your profile. This is a precautionary just in case some info is lost in conversion, you have a backup.
FAQ-
1. Will I be able to keep my friends, comments, messages, url?
Yes, your friends list, comments, messages and url will remain the same in the conversion.
2. How do I add music (mini player) on my profile?
Unfortunately, as part of the conversion you lose the ability to add a mini music player to your profile - Even if you see in your edit tools that you have added a song to your profile, it will not show up.
3. WE CANNOT convert you back to a normal profile.
4. As a comedian profile you will lose the ability to add a music mini player to your profile. However, you gain the new media area that houses your viral videos.
UPDATE 6/2008:
As noted in the comments below, MySpace doesn’t seem to be converting profiles to comedy at all anymore. Has anybody been able to get their profile converted recently?

I’ve sent several messages over the past few weeks to myspace.com/aplaceforcomedy but have not received any reply and account still not converted.
Is there another way to convert? Is there someone else I can send a request to?
Thanks.

I have requested this change and it has not happened. Looks like I’ll just have to create a new profile.
